The Idol Thief : Brief Review

My humble pranams to shri vijay kumar for writing this Informative book and sharing his experience in getting our gods and heritage artifacts back home safely from the looters den.

Book Starts with the vishwakarmas who are molding the statue of Nataraja form of Bhagawan Shiva as per the wish of a devotee who is eagerly waiting for the good news of birth of his son and then comes the scene where our Ancestors performing the last pooja and hiding the Utsava murthis of Shiva and his family so that it doesn’t come under assault of the invaders who nearing their doors and even sacrificing the life to protect the deities from the loot.

Here we are in the modern world and under the rule of government according to constitution where we have dissolved fully functioning system of Temple Management where every person in the society of believers had a role to perform to rigid and rule following system of governance of the temple where temple is being treated as treasure for the government to loot or tourist spot to showcase the world .

In this world of rigid and lethargic system our temples have been depleted and gods have been kept in bad condition and making it golden opportunities for the looters like Subhash Kapoor, Sanjeev, Deendayal , Prakash families to plunders the temples and sells the artifacts to the museums and the private collectors across the globe.

In the era of IT revolution State and Central Government’s departments like External affairs, Home Ministry and ASIs failing to keep track of the idols of the deities in the temples and museums and not able to follow up with the foreign countries respective departments in getting back the idols stolen from our country is worrisome and breaks our heart when they make shady deals with these looters just because they returned 1 out of 20 artifacts they have looted.

We need more people like Vijay Kumar who as a common citizen did tremendously work in their personal capacity in tracking the Idols and Artifacts which have reached the auction house and museums in a shady manner from people like Subhas Kapoor.

In the Government system too we have people like Selvaraj, Indy who understood the importance of Nation’s heritage and tried hard in nabbing the culprit responsible for looting the nation's wealth and trying even harder to make sure the Idols and artifacts returned to its home safely, more strength to them.

Special Thanks to Jason Felch, Michaela Boland and Kirit Mankodi for helping Vijay Kumar in his work.

I Highly recommend this book and I urge every Indian or anyone who has interest and love for the heritage of the country and religion to read this book and support the people who are behind this painstakingly hard task of finding the stolen gods from their respective temples.

From the Beginning of Time: Modern Science and the Puranic Universe : A Brief Review

As the Title The Book is about explaining the topics present in puranas with Modern Science View.

First I would like to Appreciate the author for the magnificent research which has been done while writing this book.

The Book has been well written with all possible explanations and also a balanced approach while explaining the link between our ancient puranas and modern science.

Major possible topics of Purana where we can link it up with Science have been covered and they are Sun, The Unit of Measure, Earth, The Cosmic Egg, The Moon, The Great flood, Puranic universe and Maharishi Vyasa.

Book Starts with the explanation of the Birth of Surya and what important roles he plays in Hinduism is explained with great details and how Sun came to be is described beautifully with both the puranic references and Astrological references.

Next is the Unit of Measurement -- Pramana , where it explains modern equals of Puranic Pramanas Yojana,Kalpa and all. The author has made sure to present the discrepancy that is present in the puranas when they explain Pramanas.

The Cosmic Egg and the explanation of the various mandals, Sagaras and Lokas gave me  goosebumps while reading and made me awe in places with detailed explanations of the environments and its soil and Water characters.

The Moon importance and its birth has been explained with 3 different stories available in the puranas and also there is brief information of the Churn of Kshira Sagara present.

The Great flood and the boat has been explained in this chapter including the narrations available in Abrahamic and Egyptian mythologies , it's a very good chapter and was very much interested on how Earth itself is considered as a Boat and Matya avatara and Manu’s Role as a

the protagonist has been explained here with the details and also of the boat and animals and seeds and landing point of the boat after the flood stops and guiding light of Sapta Rishis .

At last the brief information of Maharishi Vyasa life is present which is a good tribute to the author of Mahabharata .

There are various Conversations between Gods,Sages and Kings which are very interesting to know.

I have written a very brief review of the book and don’t want to spoil the interest of people who want to read the book with detailed information ,

This is a Must read book for the Millennial Hindu generation who questions what is there in the Puranas and everyone who is interested in our Sanatana Dharma should read this book.

Note: I received this Book as part of 1000 Review Club of Indic Book Club.

My Rating: 5/5 , Highly Recommend to buy the book and read it.

Urban Naxal : A Book Review

undefined

An Excellent book which needs to be recommended to read for students in 11th and 12th Class who are about to enter college. Well written by Vivek Agnihotri.

The Journey of the book starts when Vivek comes across the Movie Buddha in the Traffic Jam and gets involved in making the movie which is literary opposite to the common ideology of Bollywood and he experiences a lot of hardship starting from finding the producers to actors and distribution of the movie, at each stage Vivek faces hurdles thrown at him because the expose he his going to do by using the movie, glad that Vivek sticks to the movie and completes it despite all the difficulties.

The Biggest Challenge they face in the distribution and release of the movie is presented very informatively.

It was an excellent decision by the film team to show the students in universities the movie and have Interaction regarding the movie and other topics before and after the movie screening.

The level of interaction Vivek had with students and troubles organizers had to face for screening of the movie is an important essence of the book and it shows how urban Naxals have infiltrated the education institutes in the country and controlling the narration and future of the nation through the universities.

Some of the students and professor’s dedication to the Right-Wing ideology and Clarity of thought on Leftist principles gives me hope that there is stiff resistance to these Urban intellectual terrorists and their network.

Lastly, Vivek coming from Film background has nicely presented each part of the book like screenplay which is being enacted in our mind when we read the book, and there are more instances of “I” from Vivek since he is in the position of Narrator in the book. A very Good Book for the Current-Gen Z and a masterpiece to know how the Urban Naxals in various fields get together to suppress a movie that is showing their real agenda to know more read the Book.

I have given 4.5/5 Star Rating for the Book.

“The Old man and His God” A brief review

 34748576. sx318

Completed another Gem of a book by Sudha Amma “The Old man and His God”, a book of collection of Interaction Sudha amma had with many people in the course of life. Sudha amma is like huge ocean who has touched interacted and blessed so many downtrodden people and in this book, Sudha amma and penguin have chosen few of the interactions and presented to the world to read, are all the interaction good and fair, no it's not, there are all kind incidents in this book which teaches us lessons of life to be followed, there are people like Ajji, seeethakka, and leelamma who selfless efforts make us humble and there are people like the selfish father of cancer child who tried make a profit of his child’s health condition or that ungrateful towel selling boy who demands more, and the ideological reality faced by Narayan Murthy where ideology became supreme than common sense that was really a good incident explained in the book.
Like this, there are many more incidents in this book to read by all generations to boost our morality and make us more empathetic towards poor and downtrodden people.
Highly recommend this book.

India Unbound: from Independence to the Global Information age eBook: Das, Gurcharan: Amazon.in: Kindle Store

An excellent book , a book which needs to be made to be read by the younger generation of 18-35 years age in India right now in 2020 to make them understand the evolution of economics happened in the country as witnessed and narrated by the author, India has suffered a lot from the ill convinced socialist policies and draconian bureaucracy. Country was in the mercy of political masters and bureaucrats who believed and behaved like Demigods of the country. A must recommended book.
